ESSEX — The Connecticut River Museum is seeking men, women and children 10 and older to join the cast and crew of its popular fall theater production, “Haunted River: Ghostly Tales & Valley Lore.”

Auditions for various roles will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

These shows aim to bring Connnecticut River Valley history to life with community education and inspiration through theater, according to a press release.

No prior experience necessary, but a full commitment to the production schedule and quality is required, the release said.

Acting roles include historic characters for short vignettes, and guides who take audiences through scenes, including the 1663 witch trials of Hartford, the tale of the XYZ Bandit of Deep River, a visit to Madam Sherri’s castle and others. Production/tech crew duties include lighting, sound effects, smoke machine operation and overall scene support during rehearsals and performances.

Performances are the evenings Oct. 25 through 27. Weekly rehearsals begin in September. Auditions for acting roles and interviews for crew/tech support will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at the museum, 67 Main St., or by appointment.
