Despite the occasional wind storm, venues that have moved to limited outdoor performances in August and September are pretty bullish about them — and excited to be back in the entertainment business.

Manic Presents has been aggressively scheduling its South Farms in Morris concerts, and Goodspeed is so pleased with its riverside concerts by Broadway voices called The Playbillies that it has scheduled a new set of concerts with familiar-to-Goodspeed David Lutken and the Seat of the Pants Band from Thursday, Sept. 10, to Sept. 27.

The concerts will again take place on the lawn at scenic Goodspeed Thursdays through Sundays, but at the new time of 5:30 p.m. Patrons get a square for social distancing and may bring lawn chairs and a picnic basket.

Lutken and Co. will sing American melodies from all over, along with Irish tunes, folk, bluegrass, rock and show tunes. He has appeared at Goodspeed in “The Will Rogers Follies,” “Big River” and has been seen at Westport Country Playhouse in “Woody Sez: The Life & Music or Woody Guthrie.” He’ll be joined by actor/singer/musicians Christine Lyons and Morgan Morse.

Tickets ($25) are by phone only, at 860-873-8668. For a tasty add-on, there’s a $48 per-person option for a two-course meal and seating up on the Gelston House patio.
