CLINTON — Kidz Konnection Shoreline Theater Academy’s Advanced Musical Theater troupe kicks off its summer production schedule June 7-9, performing Stephen Sondheim’s musical thriller, “Sweeney Todd” at the Harborside Marina, 131-a Grove St, Clinton, by the town docks and next to Shanks in Clinton.

The collaboration between the Harborside Marina and Kidz Konnection brings a mystical environment to this spooky horror piece with an added touch of elegance as ticket holders may also dine prior to the production. The menu is provided by Shanks.

This event is part of the theater group’s capital fundraising campaign to raise $25,000 in 12 months to restore the historic Academy Building’s interior second floor to a more classic period style. It also kicks off Kidz Konnection’s free Friday Theater on the Lawn series from mid-July until Aug. 25.

“A Wrinkle in Time,” “Peter Pan JRr.,” Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” “The Jungle Book Kids, a Musical” “Cabaret” and “Mamma Mia” will all be outdoor events, open to anyone looking for family friendly free events in beautiful downtown Clinton’s arts district on Main Street.

“Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Seville,” performs Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m., Saturday, June 8 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 9 at 6 p.m. The show is recommended for mature audiences only. Viewer discretion advised.
