OLD SAYBROOK — The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (the Kate) will present The Magic of Lyn for two shows on Wednesday, July 31 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Lyn’s spectacular, eye-defying illusions have been astounding audiences for over two decades. Her high energy, dynamic production keeps children and adults spellbound and attendees can expect lots of audience participation. Lyn’s illusion repertoire includes floating a child from the audience to making her assistant TJ materialize out of thin air to performing Houdini’s Metamorphosis faster than Houdini himself.

In 2013, Lyn was the first female illusionist in history to receive the prestigious Milbourne Christopher Award — the Academy Award of magic — from the Society of American Magicians, and the Merlin Award for Female Illusionist of the Year from the International Magician’s Society in 2009.

Lyn has made numerous television appearances and has shared the stage with such notable entertainers as Marvin Hamlisch, Jeff Dunham, Bill Engval and Mikhail Baryshnikov.
