Good news for lovers of the outdoors: A new consumer show is coming to Mohegan Sun’s 2-year-old Earth Expo & Convention Center Friday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 16.
From the company that produces the Flower & Garden Show and the Northeast Fishing & Hunting Show in Hartford’s Connecticut Convention Center, the new Connecticut Fishing & Outdoor Show at Mohegan won’t curtail the similarly titled outdoor show that returns to the CT Convention Center in Hartford Friday to Sunday, March 20 to 22.
The latest version is a mix of seminars, 100 vendor booths, demonstrations and exhibits that highlight fishing but will also showcase ATVs, rock climbing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, zip-lining and biking, according to Kristie Gonsalves, president of producer North East Expos, in a press release. There will also be a 5,000-gallon fish tank and wild-animal seminars, too.
Fishing stars scheduled to appear are Roland Martin of NBC Sports’ “Fishing with Roland Martin”; Dennis Zambrotta, editor of “Surfcaster’s Journal”; Bobby Uhrig, fisherman and lure designer; Capt. Ralph Wilkins, a saltwater fishing guide; Philip J. Carcia, a 15,000-mile hiker/runner and photographer; and others.
