Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra plays rock classics so well and with such punch that even the cover-band-skeptical are impressed.
The Boston-based band of 15 excellent musicians has a not-so-secret weapon for this task — 10 of them are solid vocalists who trade off lines or parts of songs for maximum effect. Doesn’t seem like it would work, but it does.
We told you about URO last year, for the first of five 2018 Foxwoods shows featuring American rock classics. The group returns for the first of four 2019 shows on Saturday, Feb. 16, playing “fist-in-the-air renditions” of songs fromclassic British rock bands such as Queen, David Bowie, The Beatles, The Who and Led Zeppelin.
And as challenging as that seems, there’s another URO show that is equally ambitious — on March 30 the group will present a Beatles show called “Best of ‘The White Album’ & ‘Abbey Road.’”
