BRANFORD — Tom Petty tribute act Damn the Torpedos and The Lords of 52nd Street, featuring original members of Billy Joel’s band, will headline the 35th annual Branford Festival on Father’s Day weekend.
The big local party and annual reunion runs from Friday to Sunday.
As is the case every year, the festival will feature plenty of entertainment, lots of local food — much of it prepared by community organizations, for which the fest is a major fundraiser — rides, kids’ activities, the annual Father’s Day Road Race, a car show, a baking contest and more.
“There is something for everyone,” said festival Publicity Chairwoman Camille Linke, including “musical entertainment, kids’ rides and face painting” and “a wide variety of great food.”
Also, “during the day on Saturday there will be a craft and business expo on the Green,” Linke said.
