Branford town clerk charged with DUI, police say

Branford Town Hall

BRANFORD — Town Clerk Lisa E. Arpin was charged Friday night with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive right, according to a Branford Police Department log entry.

Arpin, 61, of Toole Drive, was stopped about 10:44 p.m., the log entry said. She was given a court date of Sept. 23.

Police Chief Jonathan Mulhern confirmed that it’s the same Lisa Arpin. The police report was not immediately available. Arpin didn’t immediately return a call for comment.

Arpin has served as Branford’s town clerk, an elected position, since 2013. She ran for reelection unopposed in 2019.
