EAST HAVEN — Police are looking for help identifying two men involved in bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Joseph Murgo said the robbery at the People’s Bank in the Stop & Shop at 370 Hemingway Ave. occurred at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday.

A white man with a medium build demanded money from a teller, obtained it, and fled with “an undetermined amount of cash,” Murgo said. The man did not brandish a weapon or imply that he had one, Murgo said.

The man then entered an “older model red or maroon Ford F-150 with several mattresses and other items in the bed of the truck,” driven by another individual. The truck last was seen traveling west on Main Street toward New Haven, Murgo said.

Murgo asked anyone with information regarding the identity of either suspect or the whereabouts of the Ford F-150 to contact Detective Molly Perry at mperry@easthavenpolice.com.
