BRANFORD — There will be books galore at the annual Branford Rotary Club Used Book Sale at the Branford Festival, June 14-16.
Tables piled high with hundreds of volumes for sale can be perused. Slightly worn hardback and paperback editions of all genres, including bestsellers, mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, biography, horror, cooking, self-help, the arts, and children’s books are available at reduced prices.
This event is a book lover’s dream and provides many a summer read, according to a release. Delve into the offerings with abandon and simultaneously enjoy some of the food treats cooked at the adjoining food tent.
The proceeds of this event are directed to the Branford Rotary Foundation, which finances scholarships and other worthy humanitarian endeavors for the community and abroad. 100 percent of all funds go directly to the Branford Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of the Branford Rotary Club.
These funds are then used for a variety of projects that in the past have included: dictionaries to all Branford third grade students; Branford Green’s Community Events sign; construction of Branford Volunteer Services Center; expansion for Blackstone Library; annual scholarships for BHS seniors; improvements to Willoughby Wallace Library; Playscape at Parker Park; Branford Basic Needs program.
Book donations are welcome. Smaller contributions may be left at any of these Rotary Book Collection bins:
