MADISON — Police are investigating after a People’s United Bank branch within the Stop & Shop on Samson Rock Drive was robbed Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded to 128 Samson Rock Drive for the robbery at 2:10 p.m., Capt. Joseph Race said in an email.
“Two white males, both between 6’0’ and 6’2’, wearing masks and gloves displayed a firearm and left with an undisclosed amount of money. One of the individuals was wearing mismatched gloves. The pair left Stop & Shop via the pharmacy side entrance,” Race said. “The individuals left the scene in a newer model, white, 4-door, Ford F-150 pickup truck. The vehicle is believed to have out-of-state license plates.”
The vehicle was last seen traveling east at a high rate of speed on Samson Rock Drive, Race said.
“The Madison Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call Sgt. Neal Mulhern at 203-245-6561,” Race said.
A $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in connection with the case is being offered by the Connecticut Banker’s Association, Race said.
