OLD SAYBROOK — Four people were arrested after they allegedly stole cars and fled from officers overnight Sunday, according to police.

A stolen vehicle fled from an Old Saybrook officer Sunday evening, according to a Facebook post from the department, then stopped to run from the vehicle. One was caught quickly; the other continued to the woods around the Goodwin school, which police searched.

A second vehicle, a white Dodge Hellcat, then was stolen in Old Saybrook, police said.

“Old Saybrook Police worked with the vehicle manufacturer and the Connecticut State Police. The vehicle was remotely slowed down and disabled in Stratford. Three people then fled from the vehicle on foot. Connecticut State Police apprehended all three,” police said on Facebook.

All four people arrested are now at the Old Saybrook Police Department, according to police.

“While the investigation remains active we do not believe there are any suspects at large.

“There are NO security concerns at the Goodwin School.

“We appreciate The diligent work of our midnight shift police officers along with the assistance from the Connecticut State Police, Stratford Police and Mopar,” officials said.
